Biography of Segun Adekunle (Labule) Nigerian singer

Segun Adekunle,Lagos, Nigeria. A Nigerian singer Segun Adekunle adopted the name Labule (meaning ‘ Rural in Yoruba) as he embarked on his career when he was a kid. His name reflects his personality as a culturally rooted individual who believes in the African Culture the reason the African drums like the talking d I’mrum, sekere ,Omele Gangan etc are dorminant in his music.

Labule plays a fusion of Highlife and Afrobeat which he named Highfro. He formed his first small band with some church choir members in 2016 called Keystone Band in Lagos after he had taught himself to play the percussions like drums,talking drum,Bata and all.

Following regular performances at the Robstone Bar in GRA Ikeja Garden ,he was a able to build a fan base that cut across the old and new generations.

He had performed far and near across Nigerian and beyond.He had performed Felabrations ,a music festival to celebrate the legendary Fela Kuti and other festivals in and out of Nigeria

Labule released his first debut single in 2019 titled ‘Smartie’ and ‘Gbegbese’ the former reflects the influence of technology in our daily especially as regards the female folks and the latter focuses on taking a decisive steps in life. Another two tracks was released in 2022 titled ‘Zero’and ‘Wait’ and in August 2023 ,Labule released his 10 tracked debut album titled LABULE….THE NOUN and enjoying massive airplay in the Nigerian music airspace.
